BAPTISMS
St. George’s Church has a strong tradition of Baptism and we follow the command of Jesus in Matthew 28 verse 19 to:
‘go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.’
It is both a privilege and a joy to welcome candidates, whether infants, teenagers or adults, into the family of God. And as a family we love the chance to get to know you.

Baptism enables parents to thank God for their child as they set them off on their journey of faith with the support of the Church; and enables candidates to turn towards Christ and become members of the local and worldwide Christian family.
To book your baptism, contact the Church Office on 01202 660612. A member of the Ministry Team will contact you to chat about faith and the church, and set a date and time for your baptism. Baptism services are usually held on the 3rd Sunday of the month.

Then a member of the Baptism Visiting Team will come to see you so that on the day of the baptism you will already recognise a friendly face in the congregation. They will also to help you complete the paperwork required, and talk you through the meaning of baptism and the service.

We recognise that your guests may not be regular churchgoers, and hope that they will made to feel welcome and included whilst supporting you during the service.
